What market price means and how we filter out junk
The market price is the middle of live listing prices for the same model, storage and condition over the last 14 days, computed only when there are enough of them; problem listings (iCloud lock and the like) have markets of their own and do not drag the main one.
Every listing is checked deeper than marketplace filters do: impossible configurations, carrier unlocks, battery and defects from the text, signs of a shop, implausibly low prices. Details are in the methodology.
Steps
- Market price: the middle of live listings over 14 days
- Same model, storage and condition — and at least 8 listings
- Locked and broken phones form a market of their own
- We drop impossible configurations, shops and suspiciously cheap listings
